NEW this Year: The Spin-and-Win Raffle!

This year, in addition to the traditional Hand-Crafted Market, a raffle-type event will be held at Winter Festival. It is called “Spin-and-Win.”

With Spin-and Win, everyone is a winner. Spin-and-Win participants pay a set price and immediately win a prize valued at what was paid OR MORE!

We Are Seeking Donations
This raffle will include donations that fall outside the handmade nature of the Hand-Crafted Market. Things like event tickets and gift certificates to local business, for example.

WHO
You! In order to make this a success, we need quite a few donations from local businesses and events. That’s where you, our parent community, can help.

WHAT
Ideal Spin-and-Win donations include:
  • Gift certificates ($25 increments ideal, higher value welcome, as well.) If a place is offering to donate $50, and it feels appropriate, ask for 2 certificates of $25 each. Though we graciously accept any donation amount.
  • Tickets (events, movies, museum entries, experiences, games, an event as part of a season ticket subscription, destinations, etc. . . )
  • Vouchers to redeem for a particular item or items.  Think: “redeem for a ____ at our Boulder store”

If a business donates an actual item we will either use it for this Spin-and-Win or, if better suited, we will use it for the Hand-Crafted Market or the next fundraiser.

Also, if a restaurant prefers to donate actual food to the December 2nd event, we love those donations as well for our Community Meal.

HOW
  1. Please look over this business spreadsheet and if you are willing to ask a business for a donation please put your name in the “solicitor” column. This is important so a business is only approached once from BCSIS. Add any businesses not yet included to the spreadsheet as well. If you have trouble accessing the spreadsheet through the link above, please let us know.
  2. Walk into a business and ask face to face or call or email businesses to request donations.
  3. Use the BCSIS donation form so that the business has our information and tax exempt number AND we also have their information.  A stack of these forms are also available behind Andrea’s desk.

WHEN
Now! The deadline for donations being in hand is Monday, November 27, 2017

CONTACT
Questions? Email Amy Scheff,
Amy’s already asked over a 100 businesses and have been greeted with a smile and friendly response each and every time, and have a 35-40% success rate!. Don’t be shy, businesses LOVE to support the community! If you’d like some help with an idea of a script, contact her
FINE PRINT
If we are light on donations for the Spin-and-Win all of the certificates, merchandise and/or other goods will be allocated to another fundraiser for this school year. But, we have high hopes that this will be a HUGE SUCCESS!
